Our Approach
Site Preparation And Demolition
The renovation began by carefully preparing the home before removing the existing bathroom, toilet, and kitchen.
Our team completed:
- Protection of surrounding areas before work commenced.
- Removal of existing fixtures and fittings where required.
- Demolition of the bathroom, toilet, and kitchen.
- Removal of flooring, cabinetry, skirting boards, and wall linings.
- Removal of the existing bathroom doorway and window.
- Responsible waste removal and ongoing site clean-up.
Structural Repairs And Building Alterations
With demolition complete, the focus shifted to strengthening the home and preparing it for its new layout.
Works included:
- Replacing damaged structural timbers.
- Strengthening and levelling floor framing.
- Installing new floor systems with correct falls to the shower.
- Relocating the bathroom doorway to improve accessibility.
- Framing the walk-in shower.
- Installing additional wall framing for fixtures and glazing.
- Insulating external bathroom walls.
- Completing an aluminium window installation, flashing, and matching external cladding.
Plumbing, Electrical & Bathroom Construction
Once the structural work was complete, plumbing and electrical services were rough-in throughout the bathroom, kitchen, and toilet before construction of the new bathroom commenced.
The new bathroom included:
- A spacious tiled walk-in shower.
- A recessed shaving cabinet.
- A tiled shower niche beneath the window.
- New wall linings ready for finishing.
- A modern bathroom layout designed for everyday functionality.
Before tiling commenced, comprehensive bathroom waterproofing was completed, followed by a 24-hour flood test to ensure the space was fully protected for long-term performance.
Kitchen Installation & Cabinetry
The existing kitchen was completely rebuilt to improve storage, workflow, and everyday usability.
The installation featured:
- Custom cabinetry with soft-close drawers and doors.
- Timber laminate benchtops.
- Overhead cupboards.
- Bulkheads and pelmets.
- Integrated dual waste bin system.
- Fridge overhead cupboard and side panel.
- Durable vinyl plank flooring throughout the kitchen.
Glazing, Painting & Final Fit-Off
As the renovation entered its final stages, every finish was carefully completed before handover.
This included:
- Installation of custom frameless shower screens.
- Bathroom vanity and accessories.
- New skirting boards and architraves.
- Internal and external painting services.
- Final plumbing and electrical fit-off.
- Detailed site clean-up and project handover.
The Challenge & Learning
Renovating multiple areas of the home at the same time required careful coordination between several trades while ensuring every stage remained on schedule.
Relocating the bathroom entrance and installing a new aluminium window also demanded precise planning to ensure the new layout integrated seamlessly with the existing home.
Through clear communication, proactive project management, and attention to detail, SilverPeak Construction successfully delivered a renovation that balanced functionality, quality, and craftsmanship from beginning to end.
